Run Her Way is proud to partner with Bxl Girls Run Club to build a shared picture of running for women in Brussels.
“Where do other women like to run?” is one of the questions we hear most often.
It is also the starting point for our collaboration with Bxl Girls Run Club in Brussels: bringing together women runners, local knowledge, and place-based data to better understand how the city is experienced for running.
We’re starting by collecting women’s perspectives on where they feel comfortable, where they do not, and what makes the difference—from lighting and visibility to activity levels, available facilities, and the time of day.
The knowledge we build together will come back to the community—to help women discover routes used and recommended by other runners, alongside the local context that shapes those choices.
At the same time, these shared experiences create stronger evidence for partners and decision-makers about where change is needed and what could make running in Brussels safer and more accessible for all.
The How Women Run Brussels StoryMap is the first step in surfacing barriers and opportunities to local participation, and turning shared knowledge into practical action.
